Outdoor education influences young people’s preparedness for their future by building and harnessing vital skills to ensure they are real world ready. Students need to be engaged in designed learning to prepare them with skills such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity.

 

As a Housekeeper, you will take responsibility for the cleanliness of accommodation, bathrooms and communal areas at Camp Jungai and/or Camp Marysville.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a member of The Outdoor Education Group Outdoor Education Division and a direct report to the Site Manager, you:

  • Take responsibility in the scope of your role for the performance, reputation and growth of The Outdoor Education Group.
  • Work collaboratively with your colleagues to manage and support day to day activities.
  • Role model passion for the benefits of outdoor education for the development of young Australians.
  • Role model The Outdoor Education Group values of respect and taking responsibility for self, others and the natural world.
  • Support the implementation of key strategies and actions that support the achievement of The Outdoor Education Group’s strategic vision and objectives.
  • Participate in and support the overall work of The Outdoor Education Group.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Housekeeper, you:

  • Maintain set standards of cleanliness for all accommodation, bathrooms and communal areas.
  • Comply with statutory and camp regulations including Workplace Health and Safety (WHS/OH&S Acts).
  • Follow the directions of the Site Manager and cleaning schedule to maintain the required service delivery to clients.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients at all times.
  • Manage the stock, storage, safe handling and distribution of all chemicals and equipment.
  • Have a clear understanding of individual client requirements and nuances while maintaining day to day activities and a professional approach.
  • Proactively support new processes and structures to further support our service delivery.

  • Relevant housekeeping experience
  • Awareness of sound OHS practices
  • Ability to follow instruction and work independently when required
